Integrated Design

Lately it seems that we are seeing more and more examples of great integrated design - especially for the kitchen and bath. Whether it's lighting and storage, workstations for kitchens with disappearing seating and charging stations or just the addition of great storage into the bath or kitchen - we love it! We are focusing on the ceiling of the home today with this post and the next all about looking skyward - even while inside. Wovin Wall is a lightweight mounting grid that can be used on the wall or on the ceiling as a focal point. Meystyle is a collaboration of two sisters with diverse backgrounds in visual and fine arts creating truly innovative and individually inspired wall coverings. Layered panels of graphic prints, LED lighting and Swarovski crystals create personal atmospheres of wall art. Furthering their family heritage and bond - Maria and Ekaterina Yaschuk rework some of their grandfather's embroidery designs into their innovative mix-and-match pieces.

Our blog coverage of 100% Design begins today, so make sure to check back here with us daily for cool, innovative products and technology from our trip to London.
Being green and eco-friendly continued overall, but this year's focus on reusing materials and inventing completely new uses for old products increased in a big way. Reestore - a company that "takes everyday waste products and cheekily turns them into charming, yet functional pieces of furniture and accessories" launched "Max the bathtub chaise". Each product created by Reestore has a "birth date, name & previous life" making buying these eco-friendly pieces a little like bringing home a new friend. Other recent introductions include "Ray the oil drum" and "Alan the Saab car seat".
