Limelight Hot Tubs in the LIMElight

So this is a little play on words and brands. One of our friends just so happens to work at Limelight Hot Tubs (A division of Hot Spring Spas) and she noticed our blog recently adopted the new name LIMElight, which really is a perfect fit. The new Limelight spas have great innovative and energy saving features that deserve to be "in the LIMElight"!

No one wants their iPod splashing around in the spa, so Limelight spas feature an optional wireless music system with an iCast™ transmitter that can transmit virtually any audio source to the hot tub, including the iPod.
The Raio® lighting is an energy conscious, multi-color LED system that illuminates the entire hot tub with multiple points of light accenting the flowing lines of hot tub interior and the waterfall. All Limelight hot tubs provide energy-efficient performance and have been certified to the California Energy Commission (CEC).
We also love interactive and helpful website features, so this one is right up our alley. Do you own a Limelight Hot Tub? Do you want to? Whatever your needs, the Limelight website offers "Hot Tub Concierge" service to make buying and living with a hot tub simple and easy. How great is that?

WEBWATCH

Pulchra allows you to vote for the world's (or rather yours) most beautiful objects. Even if you're not voting, I urge you to explore the galore of wonderful designs on show.

I love this new online tool I found. Cymbolism is a website "that attempts to quantify the association between colors and words, making it simple for designers to choose the best colors for the desired emotional effect". Ha, how interesting that the word 'crass' is, to many people, symbolized by the color red.

Sunbala's Design section keeps me updated on the latest happenings - in Chinese - around the design world.

And now to shopping. ThisNext is a social shopping network where members discover products based on recommendations by others.

I've brought Superuse to your attention some time back, but I'm going to highlight this website again. An online community of designers and architects (or just about everybody else who are keen in inventive ways of recycling), Superuse allows one to post items at various scales within the reuse-topic, be it small commodities, furniture, interiors or buildings.

DeZona is an insightful online magazine about contemporary design, trends and concepts, prototypes and products, interior design and architecture, exhibitions, technology and lifestyle. A great resource for my work...

The term 'design hotel' is so overused these days - just about every boutique-sized hospitality establishment with fanciful interior design calls itself one. But nobody (or company) has an idea of what constitute 'design hotel' better than the people at Design Hotels, which now represents and markets a hand-selected collection of more than 150 hotels in over 40 countries around the globe. Lots of inspiring, beautiful designs ensure...

Reheating your leftovers

Did you create a bunch of artwork or some designs that you just can't bear to see sitting around, unused on a hard disk, but aren't sure where to put them? Or, are you in need of a template or some designs - quick! There is a new website called Graphic Leftovers where designers post unused designs and those in need can buy artwork, icons, graphics and templates. A great feature is the ranking system each designer can give their artwork to set their own price, which is great for artists. Stop by to reheat your leftovers (designs, that is) or peruse the files and pick up a freebie or two!via: Mashable Read More..

Storytelling IKEA Style

Make sure your sound is on when you visit this new site from IKEA called "IKEA Madness" - it is so important to the overall experience! Choose a face to learn about the designer, the back-story behind developing the product along with the most amusing graphics and sounds we have seen in a long time. But... the most important story IKEA is telling? PRICE! How they have decreased their prices, how they made the cheapest lamp/chair/glass etc., why they pack items they way they do and how it saves YOU money. Now that's a story everyone will listen to!

Micro-Site for the Environment

We really appreciate it when companies take a moment to reflect on the environment and the ways their business can help educate and inform the consumer on how not only their company is approaching the green movement, but how the consumer can take steps to be greener too.

Merillat and Quality Cabinets (both are brands for the parent company MASCO Builder Cabinet Group) have taken this a step further and created a separate micro-site called "Tomorrow's Thinking Today" that, in a simple and easy to use format, highlights how they are working to protect the environment and how the consumer can take steps to create a greener home.

They tackle issues such as forestry, recycling, air quality and energy efficiency and give suggestions for consumers on how to look for appliances that reduce energy costs as well as websites to visit, books to read and foundations to work with when building, remodeling or greening your home.
