TREE BY SNODEVORMGEVERS




Snodevormgevers (loosely translated as 'sly designers'), a two person design bureau from Eindhoven in the Netherlands, just sent us images of products they put up at the exhibition Stuffed as part of the Dutch Design Week 2008. These products include the Tree trunk stools, Tree trunk liquor cabinet and Tree trunk fireplace. All products are made from steel plate and assume their shapes by a self developed folding process, giving each item it's own unique shape.

CAKE BY MOBAN


Cake by Thailand design house Moban is a set of table and stools. As the name suggests, the stainless steel-glass table is designed to accommodate 5 stools, each of which can be pulled out and resembles a slice of cake. The stools are made from recyclable plastic and upholstered in a fabric which is both waterproof and UV resistant, making them extremely adaptable for outdoor usage.

NEW DESIGNERS: NAOKO KANEHIRA

Japanese designer Naoko Kanehira unleashed her creativity at New Designers in London last week. The new products included the Cushion Stool and Cushion Sofa (each made up of a cushion pad lifted by 4 legs), wall hooks in the form of birds and branches, as well as a rug that will be a sure hit with the lazy ones among us.
