TREE BY SNODEVORMGEVERS

Snodevormgevers (loosely translated as 'sly designers'), a two person design bureau from Eindhoven in the Netherlands, just sent us images of products they put up at the exhibition Stuffed as part of the Dutch Design Week 2008. These products include the Tree trunk stools, Tree trunk liquor cabinet and Tree trunk fireplace. All products are made from steel plate and assume their shapes by a self developed folding process, giving each item it's own unique shape.

Fun on a Friday: Warm and Cozy

It's cold, snowy and we are into winter in full force here in Michigan so when we saw these fun and creative fireplaces, we just knew they were perfect for a warm and cozy Fun on a Friday post. These two wall-mount fireplaces designed by the French company, Arkiane, are energy efficient as well as inspiring. Their beautiful shapes are inspired by ancient Incan gods and the vitality of fire, but we love the fact their shape is just so interesting and unique.

The Coffee Table Fireplace

It's still cold here in Michigan - another chance for snow today! So, we are still loving the idea of a fireplace that's actually green and a cool design statement to boot. Pellet Stoves

I have been big fan of pellet stoves as an alternative heating source for a while, but had yet to come across interesting designs until I stumbled across these two stoves by Ken Okuyama.
