Recycled Glass Tableware - La Mediterranea

Made of 100% recycled glass, La Mediterranea is a line of table top items that offer such brilliant color and hue, you would never guess the raw materials used in their production were diverted from the landfill. La Mediterranea converts 5 million kilos (11 million pounds!) of glass each year salvaged from Spain’s urban recycling bins into glasses, goblets, vases, plates, and more in a dozen patterns and 15 delightful hues. Designed and crafted in Valencia, Spain since 1975, the process combines computerized manufacturing with artisan glassblowing techniques. via: Inhabitat

From Broken Bottles to Beautiful Baths - A Story of Reclaimed Glass

Artist Steve Weinstock of Alchemy finds his inspiration in a pile of reclaimed glass pebbles and shards of broken bottles. Many of the bathroom sink models in Alchemy’s Celestial Series transform recyclable glass scraps into a modern marvel of design.

This new series of bathroom sinks illustrates how thin one can cut a piece of glass and how the arrangement of shards can bring a colorful and completely unique look to the high-end bath.

And, did you know? Products made from recycled glass are stronger and save energy because they are produced using a lower temperature and take less time to create. Beautiful and green, a perfect combination!

Recycled Glass Tile

I have been looking for the perfect tile to create a back splash in my kitchen. And by perfect - I mean it looks great, but easy for average DIYers to install. I have been drawn to these small glass tiles (mesh backed to eliminate spacing issues!) that are gorgeous in iridescent finishes or metallic effects, so when I found the ashland-e series by Hakatia I was sold!

Not only do they offer mesmerizing iridescent finishes in a ton of colors - all of the ashland-e series products are 30-70% recycled glass from bottles or glass containers that would have otherwise been sent to a landfill or recycling center. Now I just have to decide on a color.... With 29 ready-made choices to pick from or a custom blend tool that allows you to create your own combination this could take awhile!

MODERN FURNITURE - DONA LIVING

"Dona Living is a wholly original new line from Valencia with refreshingly different pieces characterized by distinctive shapes, and the use of exotic woods and colourful lacquer finishes. Their trademark "Agata" Low Table in Ebony has become an instant icon, while their mythically named ottoman and low table combinations (such as "Tesa and Pairs"), have emerged as universal favorites. Most items are available in your choice of White Ash, Lati Wenge, Natural Oak, or Ebony, in combination with Red, Brown, Black, or White lacquer finishes." - available through Spencer Interiors. Modern-Contemporary furniture that is moderately priced while perfect for a kid friendly home. I love the ottomans & table compliments which are great space savers and are multi-functional for any living room or family room.

MODERN LIGHTING - FLOOR LAMP

MOVELIGHT ITALY - in & out floor lamp.jpg
The IN&OUT floor lamp from MOVELIGHT ITALY is a beautiful light source for an interior to provide soft ambient lighting while also being a perfect statement piece for a modern interior. "Extraordinary table and floor lamps encased in hand blown transparent glass with frosted top (removable), with chromed base and stem. Shown sequentially, or paired in contrasting sizes, these lamps make a spectacular statement." Available through SPENCER INTERIORS, Vancouver. This is one of my favorites for design, light quality and for a "sexy" signature to completing an interior.
