Dark blue velvet

Some time ago, I wrote about the Real Estalker who are always able to find pictures and news about Tinseltown members' real estate business. I also shared about how homes of the rich and famous often look garish and overly-dressed. Then there was my short writeup about homes of Ellen Degeneres' and her partner, Portia De Rossi.

While some homes featured in this blog are way too hard to mimic, some not-so-nice to mimic, there are also those that are elegant with their thousand dollar furniture and lighting... but mimic-able if one thinks outside the box.

Like Conan O'Brien's US$10mil purchase in posh Brentwood, CA. yada yada about details...

But what I do like (and wish I had a bigger picture of) is his stunningly simple dining room:

Photo from The Real Estalker.

Gorgeous dark blue velvet wallpaper/paint above the chair rail and brilliant white beneath the chair rail. All door, window trim and ceiling also painted white with that stunning white chandelier... The carefully chosen blue cobalt vases pick up the blue from the walls.

Totally do-able.
