NeoCon - Greening Design

Green was the key statement at just about every booth. Recyclable components, sustainable forestry, the use of renewable materials, alternative energies and so on. Many companies don't just have a green product or an eco-friendly product line, green operating procedures stretch across all categories. Here is a round up of some of the eco-friendly products and marketing strategies:

Steelcase declared themselves "Green Giants" touting the fact that all of their furniture will be C2C (Cradle to Cradle) certified before it's launch:

The Mohawk Group debuted a 98% post-consumer waste carpet:

All Steel / Gunlocke described their green practices "At A Glance":

At Your Surface showcased their lines of customizable surfaces with their new green addition - Sunflower - using stalks and waste that remain after seeds have been harvested:

NeoCon - Attention to Detail

Details were the surprise and delight of the show. Chair backs with innovative design, touches of chrome were found everywhere, cabinetry handles became artistic and LED lighting went from functional to decorative in many places. Here are a few of our favorites:

NeoCon - Color of the Decades

At NeoCon Benjamin Moore had a special exhibit - Color of the Decades. Three murals were being painted throughout the show to demonstrate the company's Aura Paint. NeoCon Day One

We had some technical difficulties getting going this year (bad storms, power outages, downed trees - you name it!) but we made it to the airport and to Chicago for day one of NeoCon.
