Homes Designs: How Green Are You?

Dwell teamed up with the American Institute of Architects to create the "How Green Are You" Design Contest and they recently announced the winner of their sustainable initiative for remodeled homes. Ryan Walsh of DRW Design Build in Portland, Oregon emerged as the grand prize winner for his Recycled Aesthetic project. His design stood out from the rest in that he first figured out what repurposed materials he wanted to use, and let the process inform the appearance. The result is a home that honors the inherent beauty of the materials with a modern green style.
