What does that mean? LEED-EB is a certification designated for existing buildings renovated to meet LEED standards. The very first LEED-EB hotel certification belongs to The Ambrose in Santa Monica, California. The 77-room property composts its own organic waste, uses nontoxic biodegradable cleaners, and saves water thanks to drought-tolerant native landscaping. In addition, the Ambrose offers guests transportation via the biodiesel-fueled London Taxi service and hybrid limo service. Employees have access to complimentary bus passes, bike storage facilities, and on-site showers.
