If you aren't green, maybe it's time to try green on for size on Second Life. The virtual world recently launched Eco-Tour which demonstrates real environmental issues on Etopia island, a modern-day village that utilizes solar and wind power, green building, local food production and an earth-friendly water treatment facility. The Green Islands Projects allows avatars to offset carbon emissions and the Second Chance Trees Project plants trees in Second Life and a duplicate tree is planted in the real world.
