zeroHouse

It's prefab Friday over at Inhabitat and we picked up on this great design by New York architect Scott Specht called zeroHouse.
The house generates its own electricity (solar powered, of course), collects its own water (in a 2700 gallon cistern), processes its own waste products and is completely automatic - controlled by a single laptop or PC. We also guessed it needed "zero" maintenance - and we were right! The cabinets and wall panels are made from pre-finished woods, which never need painting and the counters, sinks and bath surfaces are made from a seamless solid surfacing material. ZeroHouse can be erected in almost any location in a single day with steel frame components and a helical-anchor foundation that requires no excavating.
