Take a tour of EcoManor!

So, after the Builder's Show we are hooked on home tours! Since we can't be there in person, we checked out the virtual tour of EcoManor in Domino - the first LEED certified home in the Southeastern US, located in Atlanta, Georgia. See our favorite green concepts below.

We love the green roof over the garage - the landscaping on the roof and throughout the yard is all local, sustainable, organic and drought resistant.

Did you know doors can be made from wheat? And not even the part we eat, the leftover chaff becomes pressed interior doors.

This chandelier is made from recycled scrap metal and powered with compact florescent bulbs.

All toilets in the home use captured rainwater for flushing and have the two-button flush options (yes, you guessed it, button one for number one, button two for well, you know...).

The kitchen cabinets are made from Pressed Hay boxes and have Lyptus doors - both rapidly growing and renewable resources.
