Leaving NY

Ok since people have been asking about our disastrous trip back to Toronto, I'll comply!

We had to do something the morning of the day we needed to go home, after all we had about 4 hours! So after walking to Central Park intending to explore the large park, we realised that the wind was too chilly and strong. We hid ourselves in the Apple Centre again. This time I spend some time with Hannah on the Mac Minis for kids :)

Anyway, after that we had 3 hours left and we thought, we have these CityPasses... so why not do a museum like I wanted to anyway since we were already that end of Central Park. So instead of weathering the wind, we cabbed it to the Museum of Natural History. We didn't want to go pay more for the Butterfly Conservatory so we went to the free areas (you still gotta pay to get into the museum though).

Then Hannah got hungry so we had to go down to feed her. After feeding her and ourselves, we finally got to see things. After two exhibits, Andrew chased us out of the museum to rush back to the hotel.

We got into a cab, didn't have enough cash to pay, so got off after the meter reached our limit and then got money out and got into another cab! Got our luggage and then almost threw the bags and pram down the subway stairs. Man those things are really backbreakers... should get elevators. After getting to Jamaica-Van Wyck station, we got out and then was told we were on the wrong station and it was the next one up! So had to get back down to the subway, got on the next train and got to Jamaica Center, which is different station from Jamaica-Van Wyck Station. Man. By this time we're exhausted.

Then we ran to the Airtrain, the almost ran to check in and then almost ran to the Gate 31. Got there 20 mins late.

Then waited 5 hours. They kept saying "airplane maintenance" every half hour and delayed more and more. Supposed to leave at 5.15pm but finally at 10pm someone finally admitted that the flight had been cancelled. So customers fuming, we were given "airport hotel" accommodation and $10 meal voucher for each person. Told that the next flight would be at 7.55am the next morning.

So we wnt to the airport hotel and man.... this is like the kinda hotel people meet for lunch to... have... long chats and then run back to the office.

Got to the airport next morning and then got back to Toronto.

2 days later I'm still exhausted and a little weak. *sigh*
