Builders Show (IBS) - Environments for Living Home

No sooner than I arrived at the show, I made a bee line for the sunshine and the outdoor Show Village at the International Builders Show 2009. Hey, we're from Michigan where Friday was a chilly minus-25 degrees. A balmy 66 degrees, clear skies and sunshine is a fabulous way to work!
One of the highlights of the Show Village was the MASCO "Environments for Living" demonstration home for their green building program. This turn-key program offers builders a comprehensive way to create certifiable, energy efficient green homes that are healthy for the owners and good for the environment. Not that green homes aren't beautiful! Here are some of the design features we really loved:

An engaging entryway with tiles in a subtle branch motif caught our attention upon entering:
This smooth, milk chocolate brown counter top made from recycled beer bottles:
We love a cozy place for the family to gather in the kitchen, and the recycled glass tabletop is a great feature too:
Nifty storage, built in and tucked away into the bench seating:
The dramatic drum light gave this cozy, family kitchen a dramatic flair:
