I've taken an interest in furniture made out of unconventional materials as of late. By that, I mean materials which few of us would think of as being sturdy or practical enough to be used as construction materials. It's a joy to explore how different materials can adapt to different usage in ways few people can imagine.
For instance, the expanding use of paper as a furniture material highlights the versatility of a simple daily material in the betterment of mankind and environment. Suddenly, it seems designers everywhere have fallen head over heels with the term 'sustainability' and are eager to show to the world what, with a little creativity, something as common as recycled paper can be capable of.
