IKEA in the Bike Lane

In yet another retailer first, IKEA debuted a new project in Denmark in conjunction with Velorbis - an innovative bicycle manufacturer. This project provides a fleet of free bicycles with trailers for customers to haul home their purchases without creating a carbon footprint.

IKEA initiated the program upon finding that 20% of their customers in Denmark ride a bike to the store, even when living outside of the city. Now, for a nominal deposit the customer can borrow the bike and trailer to haul their IKEA finds home in comfort. This is a trial project, but if it goes over well, there are plans to roll out bikes worldwide!
