No, really! It's retail for scraps!
The Scrap Box in Ann Arbor, Michigan is a great example of the old adage "one man's trash is another man's treasure". Manufacturers and businesses send their unused goods, manufacturing waste and misprinted items to The Scrap Box. In turn, this non-profit sells the scraps either by the bag or individually, offering a discount price to members. They also host special events, such as the upcoming Scrap Box 'Sculpt-Off' in which artists must make a sculpture using scrap items in under three hours. They also provide unique services to the local community such as workshops for girl and boys scouts or children's birthdays for a small fee. Creative recycling meets creative retail at The Scrap Box! Some fun finds are Altoid tins and canes from the construction of hot air balloons. Fun!
