ICFF - Savannah College of Art & Design

As promised, today we are featuring a unique student exhibit from the Savannah College of Art & Design at ICFF entitled "Growing Hope and the Union Mission". In an innovative partnership the fibers department collaborated with the furniture design department to create a product with a sense of community involvement. They wanted to get away from the typical high brow approach to design so they turned to the Union Mission to create products for shelters to provide solutions to three different situations:

1. A single individual living on the street with no home - this product can be folded and carried on the back from place to place:
2. Subsidized housing where a person shares a room with one or two other people - this product has a privacy canopy:
3. Temporary shelters with 40-50 beds in one room, such as victims of natural disasters - these bunk beds provide places for storage and personal items:
